This month, Adapta would like to share with you the results of this year 2022 and the future projects of our dear customers in order to highlight the sector and its great initiatives.
This is a cross-interview with three personalities within very different brands with different challenges and challenges.
We have chosen three brands that illustrate the different typologies present among our customers: Petite Mendigote, an established brand dedicated to women with a complete wardrobe, Laperruque, a brand of artisanal leather goods and finally Atelier Audrey Ludwig which highlights French know-how.
Discover the answers from Clémentine, Robin and Audrey who were kind enough to enlighten us on their news.
1. If you had to define your year 2022 in one word, what would it be? And why?
Clémentine Bourdy, Purchasing Manager at Petite Mendigote
“Challenging!”
We have worked on new strategies, putting priorities such as marketing, CRM and improving our CSR approach at the heart of the activity.
Fascinating topics that require a lot of time and energy!”
Robin Nozay, co-founder of Laperruque
"Continuity
We have continued to do the same thing: refined, durable and well-made leather goods. By gradually improving our know-how and therefore the quality.
Audrey Ludwig, self-employed leather goods designer
" Balance
Starting an entrepreneurship means learning to find your balance on a daily basis. Balance in what you do and the vision you have, the values you want to apply to your project and the place that you ultimately give them. It's also juggling between your personal and professional life, what place and limits to give to each thing. It's a little balancing act on a daily basis that goes through phases of calm and agitation, but it's a very beautiful adventure!
2. Which project excited you the most this year?
Clementine Bourdy
"Working with Fairly Made to better understand the impact of our production and improve the traceability of our sourcing, but also working with new people within our team. We have made new recruitments (style, production, marketing teams) and each personality brings us a lot."
Robin Nozay
“The small marginal improvements made to our objects.”
Audrey Ludwig
"I am lucky to collaborate with different professionals, which varies and enriches the projects I work on. The various sheathing projects have really made my year vibrate. From small objects to larger pieces of furniture, you have to adapt to each support, to each curve, there is a part of improvisation in this that I love!"
3. What was your biggest challenge this year?
Clementine Bourdy
“Managing shortages, soaring prices, transportation, finding European suppliers who meet our challenges. All while reconciling a new family life.”
Robin Nozay
“Probably a custom-made 16-inch computer sleeve in natural vegetable calfskin, which we had to redo 3 times to achieve the expected level of quality.”
Audrey Ludwig
“That’s what drove my year, finding balance! Juggling between different projects, different places of production. It requires flexibility and adaptability, but when things fall into place, it feels great to feel anchored in what you do.”
4. What was your motivation for sourcing from us?
Clementine Bourdy
“Improving the quality of our production, knowing the origin of the leather we use and of course using existing skins to avoid overproduction and waste.”
Robin Nozay
"Adapta allows us to access quality leathers from beautiful tanneries, in small quantities and in original colors. It also allows us to use existing raw materials and therefore have a limited impact on the environment."
Audrey Ludwig
"Giving meaning to my way of working and thinking about putting things in place to have a conscious and responsible practice of the profession. The way I source is part of it, and what Adapta offers is fully in line with this. Working with existing stocks also means offering parts and series accordingly, and I like the limit that it offers, it tells an additional story."
5. What is your ambition for 2023? The project that is closest to your heart?
Clementine Bourdy
“To please and satisfy our customers, to motivate and encourage our great team.”
Robin Nozay
"Our ambition is to continue doing exactly the same thing, always improving gradually. Perhaps in a new, bigger location and with some new models."
Audrey Ludwig
"Continue to evolve and find balance in my workshop project and the vision that I would like to embody. Concerning the practice, it would be to grow the sheathing projects. Also, I would like to be able to integrate more of the transmission part within my workshop, we will see how but it will happen :)"
6. What can we wish you for the coming year?
Clementine Bourdy
“Let our efforts be visible to all! That will already be a great recognition.”
Robin Nozay
“To continue, better 😊”
Audrey Ludwig
"Continue to exchange and collaborate with passionate people who are full of ideas to create beautiful objects. I plan to join a shared workshop where different professionals in the arts and crafts work. This installation would make perfect sense in my professional project. To be continued!"
We thank Clémentine, Robin and Audrey for taking the time to answer us at the end of the year, we know how limited time is!
We loved learning more about their (met) challenges and we can't wait to discover what they will offer us in 2023 😊
